The only dedicated book festival for children and families in Scotland returns for a second year with a fantastic range of events for children, young people and families to enjoy. As well as a huge schools festival at the Mitchell Library, our open family day takes over on Saturday 7 March with Katie Morag, The Dinosaur Who Pooped, Debi Gliori, Aidan Moffat and more as well as free drop-in events throughout the day! Wee Write! is part of the parent festival Aye Write! – now in it’s 10th year! – but is a stand-alone programme dedicated entirely to children’s writing.
This year we're celebrating 10 years of Aye Write! Glasgow's Book Festival.The full programme will be announced in the coming weeks, but the line-up will include:Scots literary legend Irvine Welsh,Dr Stephen Hawking's first wife Jane Hawking, comedians Omid Djalili and Helen Lederer, fiction favourites Alexander McCall Smith and Patrick Gale - as well as and up and coming Glasgow writer Kirsty Logan - and appearances from Scottish Taggart actor Alex Norton, a welcome return for Everything But The Girl singer Tracey Thorn, and host of the BBC’s Beechgrove Potting Shed Theresa Talbot.
