The hacking scandal has seen huge criticism made of modern news media. At the same time, changes in the industry mean that revenues are down, some newspapers going out of business and a danger that quality journalists are endangered species. What is the future in this perfect storm? Malcolm Dean, former Guardian journalist and author of Democracy Under Attack: How the Media Distort Policy and Politics, joins Charlie Beckett, co-author of Wikileaks: News in the Networked Era and Lucy Adams, chief reporter at The Herald.
