Nic Compton and Frances Wilson: RMS Titanic

​Marking the centenary of the sinking of the Titanic, Aye Write! hosts a session focussing on two books on the always fascinating subject. Nic Compton’s Titanic on Trial brings to life the tragedy through the voices of the passengers and crew who survived it while in How to Survive the Titanic: The Sinking of J Bruce Ismay Frances Wilson explores the desperate need of the ship’s disgraced owner to make sense of the horror of it all, and to find a way of living with his lost honour. Period music will be provided by students of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.
