Code Name Verity
Page Content
Born in New York City, Elizabeth now lives in Scotland where she writes her novels and short stories. She is a member of the Ninety-Nines, the International Organization of Women Pilots and it was her love of flying that inspired the idea for ‘Code Name Verity’ which tells the heartbreaking tale of a friendship between two young women set during the second world war. The story begins in Verity’s own words as she’s captured by the Gestapo: ‘I have two weeks. You’ll shoot me at the end no matter what I do. All I have to do is cough up everything I can remember about the British War Effort” Elizabeth will talk about her fascinating research, her own experiences as a pilot and how she came to write this compelling book.
