​Andy Lane is a lifelong Sherlock Holmes fan and writing his own Sherlock books entailed ‘a lot of research about what life was like in the 1860s. For instance, I obviously couldn’t have Sherlock and his friends going around in cars or on motorcycles’.
He has now written a series of 4 Young Sherlock books - authorized by the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle - and his latest title: ‘Fire Storm’ is set in Scotland. The year is 1868, Sherlock Holmes is fourteen and the gripping books describe how he perfects his deductive skills as he attempts to solve a series of baffling mysteries.  It’s elementary my dear readers!
