If you are attending the Aye Write! Bank of Scotland book festival you could win £500 worth of book tokens for your school and see your writing published in The Herald!

Write a review of no more than 250 words on a book you have read recently. It could be by an author you saw with your school speaking at the Aye Write! Bank of Scotland book festival or you could review Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World which you may have read as part of this year’s City Read.

Send your review along with your name, age, school and your parent or guardian’s daytime phone number or email address to:

All entries to arrive no later than 30th March 2009.

There will be winners and 2 runners up in each of the three age categories:

5-8 years
9-12 years 
12 years and over

The writer of the winning review will win £500 of book tokens for their school and £50 of book tokens for themselves. The two runners up will each win £125 worth of tokens for their school and £25 for themselves.

Terms and Conditions:

 1.    The winning review will win £500 book tokens for their school and £50 of book tokens for themselves and 2 runners up will win £125  worth of book tokens for their school and £25 of book token for  themselves

 2.     Entry to the competition is free and open to all school children  attending the Aye Write! Bank of Scotland book festival.

 3.     Children must ask a parent or guardian for permission to enter.

 4.     Winners agree to any publicity organised by the Bank.

 5.     This competition is not open to employees of Lloyds Banking Group plc or Culture and Sport Glasgow, The Herald, their subsidiary companies and their agents or families.

 6.     There is no cash alternative to this prize.

 7.     One entry per person.

 8.     The winners names will be available on request in writing to Alasdair Wallace, Material, Riverside House, 260 Clyde Street, Glasgow G1 4JH.

9.       You must post your entry to the address above and we must receive it on or before March 30th 2009.

10.      We do not accept proof of posting as proof of entry.

11.      Winners will be notified by telephone by 5th April 2009.

12.      The judges decision is final.

13.      By entering this competition you are granting permission to your  review being published, copied or otherwise used by the promoters.
