About Edwin Morgan




  



Edwin Morgan was Glasgow's first Poet Laureate and Scotland's first Scots Makar. He has been awarded an OBE and the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry. He writes about all sorts of subjects, in all types of voices, and all sorts of forms including "concrete poetry", in which he is a major international figure. In his poems you'll find science fiction, computers sending Christmas cards, the Loch Ness Monster singing, midges preparing to feast, cancer cells speaking, talking apples, life on the streets of Glasgow, the big bang, Egyptian mummies, Marilyn Monroe, lovers eating strawberries in the rain, snakes taking siestas, Scotland and much more.
