Philip Ardagh is one of the world's funniest and most talented writers/performers. Over 6 feet 7 inches – that's 2 metres – tall with a big bushy beard, he's not only very large and very hairy, but has also written more than 70 children's books for all ages. He collaborated with Paul McCartney on the ex-Beatle's first children's book, High in the Clouds, reviews books for the Guardian (now and then) and wrote the BBC's first truly interactive radio serial. He's probably best known for his weird and wonderful Eddie Dickens novels, currently available in 32 languages. He is cheerful in the morning, and is kind to animals.
