Gerry Anderson MBE, a British producer, director and writer, is famous for his futuristic television programmes, particularly those involving specially modified marionettes, a process called Supermarionation. Following his first television production, The Adventures of Twizzle, in 1957 he went on to lead television production with such series as Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5, Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, Space 1999 and Lavender Castle, among many others. He has also written and produced several feature films, made advertisements and continues to develop new ideas for television and film projects.
