Denise Mina

Denise Mina is an award-winning Glasgow crime writer. Her books include Garnethill, which won the Crime Writers' Association John Creasy Dagger for the best first crime novel and was followed by Exile and Resolution. She is also the author of Sanctum. In 2005 The Field of Blood was published, the first of a series of five books following the career and life of journalist Paddy Meehan from the newsrooms of the early 1980s, through the momentous events of the nineteen nineties. This was followed by The Dead Hour and, most recently, The Last Breath. She also writes comics. Her first play, Ida Tamson, an adaptation of a short story serialised in the Evening Times over five nights, appeared in 2005 and she is working on a film adaptation of this.
