Louis de Bernières' new novel follows Captain Correlli’s Mandolin and Birds Without Wings with a story set in North London during the Winter of Discontent. A Partisan’s Daughter features the relationship between an unhappily married, middle–aged Englishman Chris and a young Serbian woman, the daughter of one of Tito’s partisans, who has a dangerous past and has recently moved to London. Another powerful story, beautifully written, and a chance to hear it first in Glasgow.
